Las Vegas...the rest of the story!

Sorry, but I haven't figured out how to add more pics without adding a new post........
So my good sister, her hubby Lon and their "only child" drove up from St. George to spend the day with us. They are great people and fun to be with. Here is one of the only billboards you can actually take a picture of and post it. We thought this was hilarious! Out of all the fine restaurants we could have chosen to eat at we settled for
The Cheesecake Factory. Stuffed our faces I might say!

This one is for you Sheezie!!!!

Can you say NECKLACE!

These are just a few of the pics to show our great time together...not to mention the Bellagio water shows to music, Circus Circus, walking 6 miles in one day, basking in 85 degree weather, checking into our casino-free/smok-free hotel, Hoover Dam, A&W Rootbeer in Henderson, NV., church at the UNLV Institute, people watching for 3 hours in the Las Vegas airport, Flamingo watching, Human Body Exhibit (Amazing) and LOVE!!!!

Viva Las Vegas Baby!

The three of us decided to cash in on some Jet Blue vouchers and flew to Las Vegas this past weekend. It's a good thing we were together because it wouldn't have been nearly as fun and enjoyable. We keep telling Maddie how lucky she is to be the "only" one at home because we didn't do this kind of thing with the other kids. I'm not sure if she is buying into the idea! Here we are in our "Poncho Section" gear getting ready to watch the "Blue Man Group". We had tickets on the third row and so they prepared us for the possibility of flying paint or squished bananas......
But they didn't tell us about the rolls and rolls of toiletpaper we would receive from the back of the venue! It was one of the funniest nights we ever had together.

Everyone had left the theater but us and we found great joy in making the best of every kind of lighting for a picture moment.

After the show Mr. Blue #1 himself was there to greet us and posed for pictures and even gave Maddie an autograph...a thumbprint of paint off his head.

To heck with Vegas just give me family!!!

Those hideous Saturday-only-teal-colored-shirts!

Like father like son! Ron was in need of some help on the roof and so Jaxon was kind enough to help him. Jaxon has always wanted to "Burst" out of his shirt because of his muscles and so you can see by the picture, he did just that. Well, since Jaxon's shirt was basically destroyed he went to Ron's closet to get a work shirt...not just any work shirt. You see these teal colored shirts have been around for 25 yrs. Ron wears one of them every single Saturday..."It's a work day and these are my work shirts." So up they went to the roof-top...working side by side...in all their 'TEAL TOGETHERNESS'.

Easter Time in Rexburg!

What is more fun than watching little ones search high and low for a silly colored plastic eggs with surprises inside? Maddie was so good to hide a dozen fun filled Easter eggs for her niece, Courtney Rose. Jaxon, Megan and Courtney spent a little time with us on Saturday before Easter. Since our kids are all grown up now those fun times at holidays have all but disappeared. Thank goodness for the next generation of little Ronnies and Jillies so that we can start all over and rekindle those fun parts of the holidays.

And thanks to our good neighbors, the Careys, who always supply us with the latest in holiday treatlets. And the best part of all was blue skies, no snow and short sleeved shirts!

It's Spring Break........and Snow everywhere, what do you do?

The snow has been falling and falling with no end in sight! Maddie is out of school but Ron isn't so we couldn't very well go anywhere. I thought to myself, hey let's get Maddie's wisdom teeth out and I'll redo my upstairs bathroom! You can guess who was most excited about the planned activities! Maddie was out until 2:00 a.m. at the HS spring breakout and so I decided to start my activity and bought the paint (yes mom I stole the color idea from you!), taped things off, opened windows and got 'er done in one day. I then gathered the items that Aubrey and I bought while she was here in March, scavenged throughout the house for other decor ideas, I stole pics from my bedroom, used other stolen items from Kurt's house long ago and plan to steal more items from unsuspecting friends and neighbors. I'm pretty pleased with the results but need financial help to replace the hideous cabinets and counter tops! Next snow storm maybe!

Grandbaby #4 to arrive!

So Maddie and I went to the David Archuletta concert in Pocatello a couple of weeks ago, (that's a whole other post!) and upon arriving home at midnight, we were welcomed at the back door by footprints taped to the floor! Down the hallway a little ways, taped to the wall, was a very modern, hard to understand or figure out riddle, written in Ashley's handwriting. Maddie and I continued following the arrows and came upon three little baby items! Hmmmmmmmmm....what was this about? The red arrows led us upstairs to the extra bedroom/grandbaby room and we saw our traditional Birthday greeting banner taped to the closet door. Made no sense since the next family B-Day is in April. Also taped to the closet doors were some small 3x5 cards. Maddie and I looked a little closer and TA-DA! Ethan & Ashley are expecting a baby in Oct. around Ron's birthday, thus the birthday greeting banner to Ronnie and little Ronnie! We are so excited for them and will now have twice as many grandkids as we did last year! As you can see by one of the 3x5 cards, Ashley had written strict instructions to NOT tell anyone until she & Ethan had done so.................OOOOOPPPPPPSSSSSS! I almost made it Kids!

Bath Time at Grandma's!!!

As our little Courtney Rose would say, "Nakey, Nakey, take a baff." What is it about babies and baths, especially when it is in Grandma's tub? I'm not sure who is more excited, the babies or all the adults gathered around. There is something to this bath stuff...........total freedom, nothing to bind any baby body parts, and total thrill and excitement filling up a cup with water, emptying it on the younger cousin....over and over and over! These two little munchkins don't see each other very often but when they got together this past March it was fun for all! Courtney will have a new sister to play with in August and another new cousin....................(see following post) by fall. I love these little ones and just don't seem to get enough of either of them!
